Minutes from December Meeting and January BBQ

Happy New Year! May this year be zillions of times better than 2020 for us all.

Reminder!
Casual BBQ at Alma Park tomorrow for all those who wish to attend. From 5.30pm, weather permitting of course! If it is too wet, see you at the Top Pub for a friendly catchup instead. Note – this is not a meeting, just a social get together – no formal minutes will be taken and we will be getting stuck into the business meetings in February (venue still to be confirmed).
Bring your own everything to Alma Park if it is pleasant weather, otherwise Top Pub it is.

What happened at our last meeting
At our last meeting in December, we had Kate Jessep, General Manager of Council, come along with a few of her senior staff, to present to the Chamber her ideas for how Council and the Chamber can work together to enable the Uralla Shire to thrive and encourage new businesses and residents.
After her presentation, Kate and her staff left the meeting, and we continued our meeting, (click here for the minutes) where we discussed the Christmas promotions, and our Christmas luncheon (which was a lovely day at Merilba, thoroughly enjoyable). Unfortunately the weather didn’t play our game for the Christmas event in Uralla’s CBD – the heavens opened with a vengeance just as Santa was on his way. But, we did have some interest and some of the shops reported that they had a good turnup – we will have a debrief on this at the February meeting and see how we can make it better this year – there have already been some great ideas suggested for it.

What’s happening at our next meeting
We will let you know where the February meeting will be held soon, but the date will be the 4th of February, at 7pm.

see you tomorrow (probably at the Top pub at this rate)

cheers
Teresa French
President,
Uralla Shire Business Chamber
